A Beautiful Ceremony at Danson House

Danson House is a wonderful setting for a registry office wedding.

Its elegant architecture and beautiful surroundings make it feel every bit as special as a larger wedding venue while still offering the intimacy that so many couples are looking for.

Alanna & Alfie’s ceremony was full of smiles, tears and genuine emotion.

Because my approach is documentary-led, I focus on capturing the natural moments as they happen – the exchanged glances, proud parents, nervous laughter and those little reactions that often become the photographs couples treasure most.

Portraits in the Beautiful Gardens

After the ceremony, we crossed over to the beautiful gardens opposite Danson House for portraits.

The gardens offer lovely open spaces, mature trees and beautiful light, making them the perfect backdrop for relaxed couple photographs.

Neither Alanna nor Alfie wanted anything overly posed.

The celebrations continued at a local golf club that held special significance for Alanna’s family.

One of my favourite parts of every wedding is the speeches.

They’re full of genuine emotion, unexpected stories and reactions that simply can’t be recreated.

This wedding was no exception.

There was plenty of laughter, a few happy tears and lots of moments where guests completely forgot there was a camera in the room.

As a documentary wedding photographer, those authentic reactions are exactly what I’m looking for.

The best photographs are rarely the obvious ones. They’re often the smile between family members, someone wiping away a tear or the uncontrollable laughter that spreads around the room after a well-delivered joke.

Ending the Day with Golden Hour

Just before the evening celebrations continued, we were treated to the most beautiful golden hour.

The soft evening light gave us the perfect opportunity to step outside for just a few relaxed portraits before heading back to the party.

Golden hour photographs don’t need to take long.

In fact, we were only away from guests for a few minutes, but those few minutes produced some of the most beautiful images of the entire day.
