One of my first weddings of 2021 and heading back into work after so long away because of Covid, Storm and Alex, like so many of my couples this year had several wedding dates, so this one was always going to be a little bit special. They met at university in Bristol and after several years of long distance, a year together in the UK, Pakistan for 2 years and a move to Lebanon, Alex planned a proposal on a holiday to Indonesia, carrying the ring in his pocket, waiting for the perfect moment! On top of a volcano, there were too many people, on a beautiful island, too many selfie sticks! At the rim of Mount Rinjani on Lombok, Alex found the perfect place, popped the question and the rest is history! Although I don’t think either of them considered how many wedding dates they’d actually plan for or that they’d also have a baby on the way when they finally managed to tie the knot!
They chose one of my absolute favourite venues, The Barns at Lodge Farm in Epping for their celebration and they filled it with vibrant colour, perfectly depicting their personalities and sense of fun! At the start of July weddings were still under restrictions but they planned their way around them to perfection and their intimate wedding didn’t feel like a small party at an point in the day, with plenty of laughing, games and outdoor dancing, complemented by the most outstanding spread of food from the always incredible Gather & Feast Events!
A perfect wedding with fabulous people and the day that made me feel like we were finally coming out the other side of the pandemic, getting me back to the job that I love and missed so much!
