A vintage Railway wedding at East Anglian Railway Museum. A red & light blue colour palette and a Lillian West gown. Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer.
When Kyla & Dave got in touch about their wedding, it sounded all kinds of awesome and I’d been wanting to shoot at the East Anglian Railway Museum for ages, so lucky me! Kyla and her girls prepped at her Mum’s house which was only a short drive from the beautiful village church where the ceremony was held, and where she grew up. I captured them doing their final touches and Kyla opening pressies from her husband to be – Tiffany earrings and a gift box with a photo of a Scottish Fold Kitten, a cat that Kyla had always wanted, he’d brought her a kitten!! (To a crazy cat lover like me, this was just the best thing ever!!). All the village residents had been collecting and drying rose petals all summer to use for confetti which wasn’t the only fabulous diy touch as, Kayla’s Dad had designed all the stunning order of service and table plan, and Kayla’s Mum make the amazing cake (complete with a little nod to Dave’s favourite video game Zelda!). After the lovely service, all the guests headed off to the reception whilst I followed Kyla and Dave to the viaduct in Chappel, just around the corner from the Railway Museum as they had their eye on it for some portraits, and having used the viaduct a few years ago, I knew how amazing it was! Kyla was such a great sport climbing a step ladder to get up into the viaduct but I think you’ll agree it was totally worth it! We then headed off to the Railway Museum where the guests were enjoying drinks and canapés on the platform! The shed where the reception was being held looked incredible, decked out with trestle tables decorated with greenery, stunning red Protea flowers and railway paraphernalia, and of course, the gorgeous table plan depicting Kyla and Dave’s favourite place. The couple had chosen to have picnic food and let me tell you, this wasn’t ordinary picnic food, it was a box of delicious, traditional English summer food, followed by Scones with cream and jam – perfection! After some great speeches, the guests were treated to rides on the mini steam train whilst enjoying the evening sun and I took Kyla and Dave off for a few more portraits to make the most of their incredible venue! Afterwards, the party hit full swing when the band came on and everyone tucked into tempting pizza! Such a fabulous day!
