A rainy, riverside wedding at Stratford Upon Avon Boat Club. Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer.
Kate & Mark’s big day was my annual outing to Stratford Upon Avon this year! It’s funny how I’ve shot in this gorgeous place at least once a year for the past three years so I was very happy to be back! Kate & Mark’s day was very much a family affair, both chose to prep at home (Mark in their home and Kate at her Mum’s) and to hold their ceremony in their local church. The morning dawned bright and warm and it was glorious all the way through the church service and still held out for the new Mr & Mrs once everyone had arrived at The Boat Club on the river through Stratford Upon Avon. The couple had decked out a gorgeous marquee and guests enjoyed drinks and canapés by the riverside! We’d got all their group shots in the bag when an almighty black cloud came out of nowhere complete with thunder and lightening, so, we ditched the planned portraits for an early wedding breakfast whilst the weather did its worst! As luck would have it, the rain had slowed to something more workable after everyone had eaten and so we ventured out for a little portrait session utilising some fab puddles and an umbrella, it just goes to proove that the weather wont stop proceedings and can be used to our advantage to get some lush portraits! Yes to rainy days! After some fabulous speeches, the sun came back out and everyone basked in a glorious summer evening, dancing and eating pizza before we left the party to head home! Thanks so much for having us Kate & Mark, it was an absolute pleasure to document your wonderful day!
