I met Lucy & Tony in late summer to shoot a pre-wedding session with them and I knew their wedding would be alot of fun – they are both very warm, bubbly people who had a wonderful sense of ease with each other. The wedding day dawned unseasonably warm but the colours of the season were still predominant, perfectly matching Lucy’s champagne gold colour scheme. I headed to The Saracens Head, Dunmow where the Lucy and her bridesmaids were prepping, they were already in full party mode! Tony had left Lucy surprise gifts which had them all in floods of tears and howling with laughter – lucky girl had Kate Spade handbag, some incredible looking macaroons and, a trip to Paris (didn’t that boy do well?!). Meanwhile, the boys were getting ready at the couples home, where even their pet tortoise got in on the act! Then, it was all off to the beautiful Maidens Barn, nestled deep in the heart of rural Essex.
Lucy and Tony’s ceremony was, well, just joyful – look at their faces! These are two people very much in love. Once they were Mr & Mrs, we went off for a little stroll around the grounds to get a few portraits. They were both really relaxed, partly I think because we’d had that practice run but mostly because they were simply very much caught up in the moment and so I adore what we captured together in that time. Then we moved onto a few group shots, again, this wonderful lot made it very easy and thoroughly enjoyable – I love the character in some of these captures!
After dinner (might I add the food is always top notch at Maidens Barn!) we went straight into speeches, and these were rollercoaster speeches, hilarious to emotional and right back to hilarious again. Then the real partying ensued. This bunch know how to party – that dance floor was hit hard from the very start and I’m pretty sure they carried on way after Id said my goodbyes!
