An elegant, opulent Hylands House, Essex wedding

Emily and Phil were married at Essex favourite Hylands House.  The venue is opulent with outstanding gardens that I just love to shoot in, and I knew Emily would use this to her advantage and have elegant flowers and details to fit the surroundings – I wasn’t wrong!  We’ve had a hot summer this year, and this day in July was promising to be a scorcher – we turned up to the house and the sky was brilliant blue with the best clouds (fluffy clouds make me ridiculously happy!).  Emily and her maids were in the dressing room prepping and the house was a hive of activity – not least from the awesome ladies at Springfield Florist who were decorating with the most stunning floral displays, rich reds with summer berries. Following a very lovely ceremony, we headed out for a few portraits.  These two are beautiful people, inside and out and so it was a joy to photograph them and we certainly had a giggle!  On our return a close family friend of Emily’s gathered everyone on the terrace to bless the newly weds, such a lovely touch.  I’ve included so many images from the speeches in this post and these are just a fraction of what I got, and this tells you how funny the speeches were, I simply adore capturing so many laughing faces.  This glorious summers day ended with dancing to the fabulous Ambassador Band and I just had time to whizz the new Mr and Mrs outside as the sunset for a few more portraits in that glorious light!  Cracking wedding for a cracking couple!
