Debbie & Simon at Cliff Barns, Essex documentary wedding photographer

I’m so excited to be bringing you this one, SO excited!  Debbie and Simon rocked their pre-wedding shoot, and from the details Debbie had shared with me, I knew this wedding would be fun, emotional, personal and beautifully styled.  It was all those things and more!  The venue was Cliff Barns in Norfolk, a colourful, quirky Mexican style ranch, complete with wagons, indian head-dresses and a whole lot of character!  Debbie and Simon used its potential with a Mexican styled day, bright colours, an aztec cake, hobby horses for the kids and dream catcher table plan.

After weeks of glorious hot weather, the morning of the 25th July felt more like Autumn and on arrival the decision to have the ceremony indoors or out had yet to be made.  Still, it didn’t have any affect on the mood of Debbie an Simon’s family and friends who were all busy with preparations.  There was such a lovely, relaxed closeness as everyone had stayed over at Cliff Barns the previous night, like a little pre and post-wedding holiday!  An outdoor ceremony was decided on and though there was a spot of two of rain, it held off all day!  Once guests started to arrive and were seated, the atmosphere changed to one of buzzy excitement and Debbie had a few emotional moments when her Dad saw her in her dress for the first time.  The ceremony itself was light but emotional with lovely readings from both the brides and grooms sisters, then, it was onto Pimms and canapés in the courtyard.  I whisked the new Mr and Mrs off for a short portrait session outside Cliff Barns before a selection of really fun group shots and onto a buffet in the marquee.  As the speeches approached, the sun started to show through the clouds and I had my fingers well and truly crossed for a sunset and, I wasn’t disappointed!  We just managed to have another 20 minutes in a glorious barley field as the sun set over the tree line, the light really was magical!  All that was left to do after that was dance!  And dance they did to the awesome sounds of the live band 11am Somewhere.

Massive Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Grove, yours really was a truly special day!
