A traditional wedding at Quendon Park with modern twists. Essex documentary wedding photographer

Nicola & Ross a traditional wedding at Quendon Park with modern twists.

Nicola and Ross’s wedding was a pretty special one for me.  Nicola is the little sis of my very good friend, second shooter and general partner in crime, Lesley-Anne (see Maid of Honour!), so it was a huge honour to be able to capture it for them!  The stage was set at the fabulous Quendon Hall, a 17th century house on the Essex/Herts border, and one of my favourite venues. The day dawned sunny and bright if a tad on the chilly side, Nicola and her party were in full prep mode and the florists from Jades Flowers were busy creating a stunning oasis in the ceremony room.  I’m certain that time flows differently on during a wedding day and before we knew it, guests were arriving and Ross was downstairs to greet them.  Following that, its Game Face time!  I knew it would be an emotionally charged ceremony but I seriously should’ve popped a tissue in my pocket – Ross was welling up as Nicola walked down the isle and when little Bridesmaid Sienna began to cry it was all over for me!  Apart from those first tears though, I think Nicola and Ross laughed and smiled their way through the rest of it – their cheeks must’ve hurt at the end of the day as I don’t think they stopped smiling from there on in!  I took the new Mr. & Mrs. Lewis off afterwards for a short portrait session as some serious looking clouds were rolling in! We managed to get quite a few in before the heavens opened and finished off in the library! Wasn’t long before the sun re-appeared though, long enough to get a few fun group shots on the front lawn!  Once a delicious dinner had been enjoyed, some heartwarming and squirm-worthing speeches (and a quick outfit change for me!), Nicola and Ross took to the dance floor, after which the party really kicked off with no hesitation – everyone had a whale of a time in the photo booth and danced the night away.  Mr. & Mrs. Lewis – thank you for having me, what an epic day! I wish you both a whole lifetime of love and happiness!!
