Kristy & Kev – a rustic barn wedding on Easter Sunday
The lovely Kristy and Kev were wed on Easter Sunday, a day the weather threw everything at them! The wedding was held at The White Heart in the gorgeous village of Great Yeldham near the Essex/Suffolk border, a perfect venue for an intimate celebration full of rustic charm and beautiful gardens. I arrived to find preparations in full swing, Kristy and her girls were all very relaxed, enjoying a glass of two of bubbly whilst the finishing touches were being given to the decorations in the main barn. The couple had been very hands on with their decor, opting to do a lot of it themselves with brilliant games for the kids included and personalised origami puzzles on the tables. They were also extremely lucky to have very good friend Sally-Anne as their florist, the flowers were exquisitely arranged with obvious flair and really set the rustic theme off beautifully. Kristy looked stunning in a fabulous lace Justin Alexander gown with cobalt blue Ted Baker shoes and her bridesmaids and flowers girls co-ordinated beautifully in dresses from Debenhams. We caught up with Kev, his Best Man and Ushers in the bar, all looking very dapper in suits also from Debenhams, though he did receive a helping hand with is cravat from his Dad!
After a very moving ceremony, I took the new Mr. & Mrs. Jaggard off for a short portrait session, and though they were nervous, it didn’t show and they pulled off their portraits to perfection! At this point the heavens opened again (we’d already had a thunder storm in the morning!) so we opted to do the first set of group shots undercover, but we managed to get outside again for the remaining shots – the weather sure gave us a run for our money!! I finished up as everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast and I’m assured that the party was soon in full swing!
